Roczniki (Annals), 2017, vol. 2016, issue 3

Abstract: The aim of this article is to determine the size and structure of the greenhouse gas emissions from Polish agriculture and identify the main sources of these emissions. The empirical part draws on data from the European Environmental Agency for 1990-2013. The level of GHG emissions in the Polish agriculture, the main source of emissions and the structure of greenhouse gas emissions. It was concluded that in the period 1990-2013 GHG emissions in Polish agriculture decreased by almost 30% and its main sources are enteric fermentation of cattle and burning of fuels. The main GHG in Polish agriculture are nitrous oxide and methane, which is extremely important in light of the planned EU regulation aimed at introducing limits for methane emissions.
