Abstract:
The subject of research in this paper is the development of innovativeness in Polish industry from 2006 to 2017. The paper’s basic aim is to evaluate the level of innovativeness in Polish industry during this period amid the inflow of European Union funds, chiefly those available under the bloc’s 2007-2013 budget. An effective method of measuring the level of industrial innovativeness has been proposed for this paper. The analysis is mainly based on data from Poland’s Central Statistical Office (GUS). The basic result of the research is an observation that a period of innovation stagnation started in Polish industry in 2009. It lasted until the end of the studied period. The stagnation was caused by a slowdown in domestic expenditure on innovation activities despite a quickly growing influx of European funds.
