Abstract: China’s agriculture has passed significant metamorphosis after 1978. Although in comparison to agrarian sectors in developed countries, China’s sector lags behind in terms of technology. The aim of this article is to present the institutional changes in China’s agriculture after 1949, areas of underdevelopment and methods of eliminating these problems. / Synopsis. Chińskie rolnictwo przeszło metamorfozę od 1978 r. Jednak w porównaniu z sektorem agrarnym krajów rozwiniętych jest zacofane przede wszystkim pod względem technologicznym. Celem artykułu jest prezentacja zmian instytucjonalnych w rolnictwie od 1949 r. oraz wskazanie obszarów zacofania chińskiego rolnictwa i działań zmierzających do wyeliminowania tego niedorozwoju.
