Wpływ zmienności światowych cen cukru na sytuację ekonomiczno-finansową sektora cukrowniczego

Abstract: Sugar is considered as one of the first global commodities in the economic history of the world. The relations of supply and demand in the world have had a considerable influence on the development of local markets. In effect of the EU sugar market regime reform, both the European and the domestic markets are more and more reliant on the situation in the world market. The production capacity of the domestic sugar industry exceeds the demand on the internal market and therefore surpluses are exported. At the same time the market regime creates a necessity to import of 200 thousand tons of sugar in order to bridge the gap between the domestic demand and the production quota. Polish sugar industry imports more and more cane sugar for refining which increases the utilization level of its production factors. World prices have had a considerable influence on the domestic prices and thus financial standing of the sector. / Synopsis. W historii gospodarczej świata cukier jest uznawany za jeden z pierwszych produktów globalnych, a sytuacja podażowo-popytowa na światowym rynku miała duży wpływ na rozwój rynków lokalnych. Polski sektor cukrowniczy od wielu lat pozostaje pod wpływem rynku światowego. Reforma systemu regulacji rynku cukru w UE spowodowała, że rynek unijny i krajowy w coraz większym stopniu są uzależnione od sytuacji na rynku światowym. Potencjał produkcyjny krajowego przemysłu cukrowniczego jest większy od zapotrzebowania na rynku wewnętrznym i nadwyżki podaży są kierowane na eksport. Równocześnie system regulacji rynku powoduje, że 200 tys. t cukru musi być importowane, aby pokryć różnicę między zapotrzebowaniem i kwotą produkcyjną. Polski przemysł cukrowniczy importuje coraz większe ilości trzcinowego cukru surowego do rafinacji, która umożliwia lepsze wykorzystanie czynników produkcji. Ceny rynku światowego wyraźnie wpływały na ceny zbytu w kraju i wyniki finansowe sektora.
