Abstract: With over a billion people in Africa, the issue of agricultural development and food security is extremely important. The paper investigates the historical engagement of China in the economic cooperation with Africa, as well as the Chinese and African alimentary needs leading to enhanced interest in bilateral collaboration and assistance. Different aspects of the Chinese agricultural commitment in Africa are discussed. / Synopsis. Problem rozwoju rolnictwa i bezpieczeństwa żywnościowego pozostaje jednym z kluczowych wyzwań współczesnej Afryki. W artykule przedstawiono historyczne zaangażowanie Chińskiej Republiki Ludowej(ChRL) we współpracę gospodarczą z krajami Afryki oraz czynniki skłaniające państwa Afryki i ChRL do pogłębiania kooperacji w sektorze rolnym. Analizie poddano różne formy chińskiego zaangażowania we współpracę rolną z krajami Afryki.
