Abstract:
The aquaculture activity is the production of any living organism on the water, and it is a primary sector similar to agriculture and livestock production. It shows the fastest economic grow in the world economy for the last 10 years, including electronics and software. This sector is the key to the fight against hungry, creates jobs and due to demand for inputs encourages the domestic market. Then, it shows a great social impact. The aquaculture can be carry out with different technologies, is profitable and good rural business. México shows material, natural and social characteristics to reach the world leaderships. This paper is to analyze the importance of aquaculture at the world level and potential for México.
