ANALISIS ECONOMICO DE LA ENGORDA DE OVINOS EN UNA GRANJA INTEGRAL EN EL ESTADO DE PUEBLA, MÉXICO

Abstract: The sheep farming with business vision and integral production, is a relatively new model in Mexico, so its required analyze the economic aspect with the objective of knowing the economical profitability, that’s why the present productive and financial analysis has been done in an integral farm ubicated in the state of Puebla, Mexico. It has been used 1000 sheep with 20 kg of live weight, hybrids (F1), with an age between 2 and 4 months, which born in the farm, this confer advantages regard to fattening with stocking of cattle where exist big variability in genetics, sanity and nutrition in the sheep to fatten. The sanitary handling at the beginning of the fattening, consisted in the application of a bacterin against Pasterella-Clostridium, deworming and vitamination. The animals were finalized with a diet high in grains (90%) and forage (10%) with the next characteristics; Metabolizable Energy: 2.75 and 2.85 Mcal; raw protein, 15.0 and 14.50%; non-degradable in rumen proteins, 6.0 and 5.5%; raw fiber, 10.0 and 6.0%; Calcium, 0.9 and 0.8% and Phosphorus, 0.40 and 0.41%. It has been analyzed the main simple economic indicators to know the profitability, getting as inversion a total amount of $1,342,610.50, which included fixed and variable costs, the total income by sell concept of 990 sheep of 40 kg of weight, was $1,830,800, the depreciation was calculated in $115,711.20 annual. The net income for inverted weight (net relation cost-benefit for fattening) was 1.16, the accounting return rate was 16.12% and the net rate of return per year was 87.86%. It concludes that fattening of sheep in an integral farm, under the conditions of this experiment has an annual profitability above of 80%.
