EXISTENCIA DE FASCIOLASIS OVINA Y CAPRINA QUE AFECTAN LA PRODUCCIÓN EN SAN JOSÉ CHIAPA, PUEBLA

Abstract: Fasciolasis is a present disease that affects the health of sheep and goats, in addition it becomes a zoonosis of great consequences for the economic and productive losses in the herds of the whole world. In Mexico, it is found in almost all the states with a great impact on ovine and caprine production, caused by this parasitosis. The main objective of the study was to know the existence of fasciolasis in sheep and goats that affect production in San José Chiapa, Puebla. The study was carried out in the municipality of San José Chiapa, in the state of Puebla. Two groups of 60 (sheep and goats) of average age of two and a half years were selected, shepherding them from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Stool collection (120) was performed for the laboratory analysis and its parasite identification of the groups under study. The techniques performed were McMaster (for Eimerias and gastrointestinal nematodes) and concentration / sedimentation (for fasciolas), where descriptive statistics were later applied; Through the statistical package SPSS 10.0 for Windows. The results show a greater number of fasciolas with 17 sheep constituting 28% of the population affected, and in the goats only 7 by fasciolas representing 12% of its population. The decrease was less $140.00 / sheep on sale, for confiscation of liver affected by fasciolasis when marketed in the markets (local and regional).
