Abstract: Feeding is a human right registered in the 25th article from Universal Declaration of Human Rights which it represents the major challenge that Agricultures faces to ensure the supply of food to the population, however, its magnitude it will be in function of population growth rate, economy, agricultural infrastructure and natural resources of every country. Between micronutrients, zinc deficiency seems to be the nutritional widespread problem and frequent in the crops and forages of the world, as a result of losses in yields and nutrient quality. For the above in the present study the economic profitability was evaluated for using zinc as a fertilizer in the production and quality of forage maize. As an indicator in the evaluation of the economic profitability it was used the algebraic expression: Profitability = Total Income (TI)-Total Cost (TC). Based on what was stated, one was obtained in the treatment (T1) that was fertilized with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium with a total production cost of $31,650.00, with a yield of 46,000 kg/ha, which was sold at 0.8 pesos/ kg giving a total income of $36,800.00, obtaining a return of $ 5,150.00. In the case of treatment two (T2), in which it was fertilized with nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and zinc with a total production cost of $32,250.00, a yield of 60,000 kg/ha was obtained, which was sold at 0.8 pesos/ kg giving a total income of $48,000.00, obtaining a return of $15,750.00. By including nitrogen and zinc in sufficient quantities during the crop development cycle, they are essential within the structures of a large number of enzymes and proteins, which affects the yield and quality of the crops.
