Abstract:
In this research, the objective was to identify opportunities based on the needs and deficiencies that arise in the integration of the banana network in the Soconusco region of Chiapas and propose strategies and priorities to address the different problems through investment projects. The method used was a qualitative-quantitative methodology, analyzing information from the international, national and local economic environment with statistical data from FAO, SIAP and SNIIM, and data collected in the field through interviews directed at 10 producers and visits to producing and packing farms to know the details and production systems. The results indicated that Mexico in 2022 exported 20% of its production with an approximate value of USD$250 million, likewise, a high internal consumption of 80% of the production, the price in the supply centers played an important role. For the decision to determine the volume of export or shipment to the national market, the data showed that, in Chiapas, the value of production remained without growth in the last 10 years, however, a drop was recorded in the last 4 years of 2019. to 2022. The conclusions indicate as an area of opportunity to design strategies to improve productive indicators in the field, integration of schemes where the actors that make up the productive network participate, seek the support of financial intermediaries to channel credit resources that allow strengthening and improving the activity productive, packaging, cold network until trade with the final consumer.
