Abstract: Este estudo pretende analisar a produção para autoconsumo de agricultores familiares da comunidade de Jacarezinho, pertencente ao município de Encantado, Rio Grande do Sul. Para isso, a visão de agricultores, é analisada a partir de perspectivas que se propõem a entender como são percebidos por eles os alimentos produzidos para o autoconsumo, tendo por contraponto a produção moderna, surgida a partir dos anos 70. Buscar-se-á, também, observar o destino dos alimentos produzidos inicialmente para o consumo (trocas, doações, comercialização) a fim de identificar a existência ou não de excedentes que pudessem vir a ser comercializados.---------------This study intends to analyse the production for self-consumption of family agriculturists of the community of Jacarezinho that belongs to the municipal district of Encantado, Rio Grande do Sul. For that, the view of the agriculturists, are analysed from the perspectives that propose to understand how the food that is produced for self-consumption is perceived by them, having the counterpoint, the modern production from the seventies. It will also search to observe the destination of food that is produced at first for the self-consumption(exchanges,donations,commercialization) in order to identify the existence or not of surplus which could be commercialized.
