Recursos Estratégicos em Propriedades Rurais Familiares

Abstract: A agricultura familiar tem papel importante nos agronegócios. A manutenção desses agricultores é uma das preocupações prioritárias dos governos. Também é amplamente conhecido o fato que o desempenho das propriedades familiares varia significativamente. Esse artigo busca contribuir para a explicação do porquê dessa variação de desempenho, através da Teoria Baseado em Recursos (RBV). Nesse sentido, foi desenvolvido um estudo exploratório de 12 propriedades agrícolas familiares que tem seus resultados econômicos dos últimos 6 anos acompanhados pela Empresa de Pesquisa Agropecuária – Epagri. O objetivo central foi identificar as causas que sustentam um desempenho consistentemente e repetitivamente maior ao longo desse período. Os resultados indicam que as vantagens competitivas estão relacionadas ao processo de tomada de decisão do produtor rural na gestão da propriedade. As habilidades diferenciadoras encontradas foram: seleção adequada de inovações e investimentos, implementação das inovações, aprimoramento incremental do sistema de produção, monitoramento técnico e econômico. Essas habilidades encontradas têm valor estratégico, pois apresentam características de dependência do caminho e de grau de codificação do conhecimento.---------------------------The family farming has an important role in agribusiness. The support of these agriculturists is one of the priority concerns of the governments. It is also widely known the fact that the performance of family real states varies significantly. This article searches to contribute for the explanation of the reason of this variation in performance, through the Theory Based on Resources (RBV). In this sense, an explanatory study was carried out on 12 family farming real states which had their economical results followed in the last 06 years by EPAGRI – Company of Agriculture and Cattle Breeding Research. The main goal was to identify the causes that sustain a performance consistently and repetitively bigger in the course of this period. These results outpoint that the competitive advantages are related to the process of decision taken by the rural breeder in the real state management. The differential abilities found were: adequate selection of innovations and investments, implementation of innovations, incremental improvement of the production system, technical and economical tracking. These abilities found have a strategic value because present characteristics of dependence of the way and degree of knowledge codification.
