Influência de uma Usina de açúcar e álcool na oferta de mão-de-obra para pequenas propriedades da agricultura familiar: o caso do município de Junqueirópolis - SP

Abstract: Neste trabalho busca-se verificar a influência de uma Usina de açúcar e álcool na oferta de mão-de-obra para pequenas propriedades da agricultura familiar no município de Junqueirópolis, região oeste do Estado de São Paulo. Por ser um dos setores de maior crescimento na economia, graças ao interesse pelo etanol, o setor de açúcar e álcool desponta como uma atividade intensiva em mão-de-obra, o que pode causar influencias em outras atividades produtivas. A amostra pesquisada foi escolhida aleatoriamente entre os pequenos proprietários atendidos pelo Pronaf. A análise apresenta um perfil da agricultura familiar no município e a influência da Usina de Açúcar e Álcool na oferta de mão-de-obra local. Os resultados indicam uma importante variedade na produção agrícola do município e a percepção, por parte dos produtores locais, de que há uma influencia negativa da Usina na oferta de mão-de-obra. --------------------------------In this paper we are trying to verify the influence of a sugar cane industry, which produces sugar and alcohol, on the labor of small farms in the city of Junqueiropolis, in the west of São Paulo State. As it is a sector with higher growth in the Brazilian economy, because of the alcohol growing consumption, the industry of sugar and alcohol is very intensive in labor, which could have some influences in other activities. The sample adopted in the research has been aleatory chosen, based on the list of producers participating to the PRONAF (National Program of Familiar Agriculture). The analysis presents the familiar agriculture in the city of Junqueiropolis and the influence of the sugar cane industry in the local labor. The results indicate a great variety in the products of the small farmers and the perception, by the producers, of a negative influence of the cane industry in the labor availability of the region.
