VALORAÇÃO ECONÔMICA DE BENEFÍCIOS AMBIENTAIS COMO ESTRATÉGIA DE CONSERVAÇÃO: O CASO DO LITORAL DE ILHÉUS-BA

Abstract: Este artigo tem por objetivo estimar uma função de demanda por turismo e o valor de uso (recreacional) das praias do litoral do município de Ilhéus – BA, que permitirá fazer uma estimativa dos benefícios do turismo nessa área, considerando duas diferentes estações para o turismo, alta estação e baixa estação. O levantamento dos dados foi feito nos meses de janeiro (alta estação) e novembro (baixa estação), foram aplicados 138 e 110 questionários, respectivamente. A técnica utilizada para a obtenção do valor de uso do turismo foi o Método do Custo de Viagem. O valor do turismo estimado para as praias do litoral de Ilhéus-BA, considerando os turistas amostrados para cada estação foi de R$ 255,13 (alta estação) e R$ 453,58 (baixa estação) por dia por turista. Como a extensão do litoral é de 93 km, pode-se concluir que o valor do turismo de um quilômetro de praia é de R$ 2,74 e R$ 4,87 por turista por dia. Estes valores confirmam a importância econômica das praias de Ilhéus e necessidade de preservação.--------------------------------------------This article has the objective of to esteem a function of demand for tourism and the value of use (recreational) of beaches of the coast of the city of Ilhéus - BA, that will allow to make a estimate of the benefits of the tourism in this area, being considered two different stations for the tourism, high station and low station. The survey of the data was made in the months of January (high station) and November (low station), had been applied 138 and 110 questionnaires, respectively. The technique used for the attainment of the value of use of the tourism was the Method of the Cost of Trip. The value of the tourism esteem for beaches of the coast of Ilhéus-BA, considering the tourists showed for each station was R$ 255,13 (high station) and R$ 453,58 (low station) per day for tourist. As the extension of the coast is 93 km, it can be concluded that the value of the tourism of one kilometer of beach is R$ 2,74 and R$ 4,87 for tourist per day. These values confirm the economic importance of beaches of Ilhéus and necessity of preservation.
