Financing of Development and Improvement of Agriculture in Lajkovac Municipality

Abstract:
Having in mind the process of EU enlargement and its positive impact on the Republic of Serbia, it is evident that in future development of national agriculture, farms financing will represent crucial activity. Agricultural husbandries funding has decisive role in realization of agricultural and rural development goals and priorities, primarily as a driving instrument of quantitative and qualitative growth of total agricultural production factors and production, but also to create conditions for a better life in the countryside. Municipality of Lajkovac, by its geographical location, relief, available natural resources, as well as by created economic potentials, represents an interesting area for business activities of agricultural husbandries. Territory of Lajkovac municipality has traditionally developed live stock breeding production, characterized by very favorable conditions for breeding of cows and heifers of Simmental race. Also, relatively significant are crop growing and production of virus-free nursery plants. In paper was analyzed the financing of development and improvement of agriculture, both at regional and national level. Accordingly, by research was covered funding of agriculture in Lajkovac municipality, as well as characteristics of funding sources in agriculture on the territory of Kolubara district, Central Serbia and complete Republic. Also, were presented possible investment directions of local farms, as well as overview of potential funding sources for sustainable development of agriculture in incoming period.
