Abstract:
Tourist activities are complex economic activities whose multiple characteristics reflect onto positive economic development, in this case, onto region of Vojvodina. Besides that, it is known that tourism can affect development of other complementary economic branches. However, Vojovodina was never characterized as a place with developed mass tourism. Nevertheless, the influences of tourism can be felt across all segments of economic and social development. This paper points out the main characteristics of tourist movements in Vojvodina. Within the most important segments (export, employment, manufacture) tourism indeed represents the most propulsive branch of the economy and its beneficial virtue was confirmed on regional level. Also, it represents one of the most important factors regarding the stable economy; a factor that removes all disproportions stemming from unfavorable employment and manufacturing movements as well as disproportions stemming form branching and regionalism.
