Abstract:
Beef cattle breeding is the most important input in beef cattle cultivation but this is of less interest to breeders. There are several factors that cause farmers to be less interested in beef cattle breeding, namely the problem of relatively large capital, inadequate mastery of technology and knowledge, and quite a long time for cattle breeding. The research objective was to determine the sustainability status of beef cattle breeding based on ecological dimensions in Barru District, Barru Regency. This study used survey methods, interviews, and Focus Group Discussion. The data was processed using the Rap-Local Beef Cattle Breeding ordination technique through the Multi-Dimensional Scaling (MDS) method for sustainability analysis. The results showed that the sustainability of beef cattle breeding based on the dimensions of its ecological status was quite sustainable
