Abstract: Purchasing activities are one of the basic functions of a company, because a company will not be able to operate properly without proper management in accordance with procedures. This study uses a qualitative method by conducting direct observations that aim to collect complete data and information. In addition to observation, the author also conducted in-depth interviews. This study aims to determine the procedure for purchasing rice at PT. Mas Surya Abadi's harvest and the problems faced by the purchasing department. The process of buying rice from PT. Harvest Mas Surya Abadi, namely buying rice based on needs, negotiating with vendors with the approval of the manager, scheduling, rice coming on demand, quality inspection according to SOP and payment.
