Bureau of Agricultural Economics
No 309963, Marketing Research Reports from United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Marketing Service, Transportation and Marketing Program
Abstract:
The objectives of the study were: 1. To classify cordage and twine products in terms of end uses. 2. To estimate for each fiber the quantities used in various products in 1951. 3. To find out the characteristics desired in the fibers utilized in various products. 4. To find out whether the fibers currently in use have all of the characteristics desired in terms of end-product uses, and if not, to specify which characteristics are missing or need improvement. 5. To find out whether there are other fibers that would be better than those currently used. 6. To find out the trend in fibers now used for various products, and to learn what substitute fibers have been used.
