Abstract:
According to a nationwide survey, when mothers shop for spring and summer clothing for their children, ease of care and durability are their prime considerations. A blend of cotton and polyester was the preferred fiber for all garments asked about in the survey except underpants and nightwear. Cotton was preferred for these garments because it is cool, absorbent, and feels comfortable next to the skin. A majority of the mothers are "very interested” in flame-resistant clothing for their children and are willing to pay extra for it.
