Abstract:
Excerpt from the report: Our objective was to study effects of different ginning treatments on ginning performance, fiber qualities (especially the fiber length and length distribution), and spinning performance of Pima cottons. Since both Pima S-1 and Pima S-2 are produced in the El Paso area, we thought it advisable to include both varieties in the study. The Southwestern Cotton Ginning Research Laboratory at Mesilla Park, N. Mex., and the Pilot Spinning Laboratory at Clemson, S. C., cooperated in the research.
