Excerpt from the report: The purpose of the report is to add to the limited amount of published information available on the economics of marketing dairy products in Alaska. The main objectives are to: (1) Describe and analyze the source, volume, costs, and selling prices of milk marketed in Alaska. (2) Analyze and evaluate the comparative costs and advantages of marketing fresh, reconstituted, and concentrated milk. (3) Analyze the characteristics of demand for milk in Alaska as they affect requirements for supplies and costs of distribution. (4) Analyze factors affecting costs and pricing of locally produced milk. (5) Analyze changes in marketing since 1957.
