A Summary of Federal Laws and Regulations Affecting Agricultural Employers

Abstract: Hired farmworkers constituted 35 percent of the total farm work force in 1985, up from 30 percent in 1975. This growth trend means that Federal laws and regulations governing employment taxes, wages, and working conditions are increasingly affecting employers of such workers. This report is a single source of information describing the Federal laws and regulations that pertain to agricultural employer-employee relations and agricultural employment taxes.
