U.S. Average Costs of Production for Major Field Crops
Economic Research Service
No 309653, Agricultural Information Bulletins from United States Department of Agriculture, Economic Research Service
Abstract:
Average U.S. production costs per planted acre for major field crops are presented for 1989 and 1990 along with forecasts for 1991. The Agricultural and Consumer Protection Act of 1973 and subsequent legislation require that the U.S. Department of Agriculture annually estimate costs of producing wheat, feed grains, rice, and peanuts. The cost and return accounts provide cash costs, total economic costs, and estimates of net returns.
