Chowan-Pasquotank River Basins Study: Projections of Land Use and Soil Loss in the Chowan-Pasquotank River Basin

Clayton Ogg and Ralph Heimlich

No 324810, Economics Statistics and Cooperative Services (ESCS) Reports from United States Department of Agriculture, Economic Research Service

Abstract: This report presents land use and soil loss projections for the Chowan-Pasquotank River Basin and describes inputs to the linear programming model. Total production or demand for 1990 and 2020 is based upon past trends in regional production shares of national and export markets. Other model inputs include basin yields and soil losses on soil groupings and budgeted costs. The model is designed to analyze economic and environmental impacts of soil and water conservation plans for the Basin.
