Price Spreads, Costs, and Productivity in Poultry and Egg Marketing, 1955-74

George B. Rogers

No 307573, Agricultural Economic Reports from United States Department of Agriculture, Economic Research Service

Abstract: This study develops measures of costs, productivity, and returns in the marketing systems for eggs and poultry during 1955-74, using USDA's market basket price spreads series as a base. It also examines the changes in costs and productivity for individual marketing functions and the substitution between various inputs, based on a large number of previous studies.
