Economic Effects of a Prohibition on the Use of Selected Animal Drugs

Abstract: An economic assessment is made of the impacts that might occur in the agricultural sector from the ban or restricted use of various drugs in animal feed. Attention is focused on feed efficiency, growth promotion, and mortality, and how changes in these variables affect production costs, output, and product prices. Effects on consumers and consumer response are also estimated.
