Tobacco Consumption in the United States, 1880 to 1954

Benno K. Milmore and Arthur G. Conover

Journal of Agricultural Economics Research, 1956, vol. 08, issue 01, 6

Abstract: The trend of cigarette consumption in the United States in recent years has been the subject of much comment and speculation. Changes in the consumption of cigarettes have been most striking, but interest also attaches to the consumption of other tobacco products. The following paper makes a contribution to our knowledge of tobacco consumption and probably furnishes the best measures of it that can be devised.
