Abstract:
Soviet agricultural production recovered in 1970, and the USSR has ample supplies of grain and cotton for export. In Eastern Europe, most of the southern countries suffered heavy flood damage, and the northern countries, winterkill. Net grain imports by East European countries will be up substantially. In Mainland China, the output of grain and livestock products reached a record. China's imports of wheat are expected to decline in 1970/71, and exports of livestock products should continue to trend upward.
