Appraisal of Treated Burlap Bags for Shipping Wool

Frederick J. Poats

No 320094, Miscellaneous Publications from United States Department of Agriculture, Economic Research Service

Abstract: Excerpts from the report: This report presents the results of concerted efforts of the wool industry and the U. S. Department of Agriculture to find the answer to the problem of jute fiber contamination of wool. A new type of container for wool shipments offers the most logical way of preventing jute contamination of the wool. The latex-treated bag devised in this study was tested as such a container. This report contains the results of these tests.
