Abstract:
Excerpts from the report: A review of price administration, priorities, and conservation of supplies affecting agriculture in the United States during the first World War reveals a wealth of information which is valuable in the planning and administering of a similar program during the current national emergency. What happened to agriculture in World War I that may help to guide us in World War II? Before trying to answer that question, let us look for a moment at some of the changes in the last quarter-century not only in agriculture, but in our economy as a whole. Then we shall examine the effect of wartime measures on purchases, production, and sales by farmers.
