Abstract: This leaflet discusses the growth of public interest in obtaining wise management and development of land owned by counties and States, and points to some of the legislative measures already being taken to this end. Readers wishing a fuller discussion are referred to the chapter issued by the United States Department of Agriculture, Management and Development of State and County Lands in the special report, State Legislation for Better Land Use.
