The Massachusetts Hill Towns in Wartime

Abstract: This is a study of how five hill towns (townships) in Hampshire County, Massachusetts, participated in war-related programs and what other effects the war had upon them. The townships studied were Chesterfield, Cummington, Goshen, Plainfield, and Worthington.
