No 276736, Staff Reports from United States Department of Agriculture, Economic Research Service

Abstract: The Rotterdam Model, a complete consumer demand system, was fitted to personal consumption expenditure data for Thailand for 1960-79 to study the pattern of food demand. A full, matrix of direct and cross price elasticities and income elasticities was estimated. The 10 categories of food were: rice and cereals; meat; fish; milk, cheese, and eggs; oils and fats; fruits and vegetables; sugar, preserves and confectionery; coffee, tea, and cocoa; other food; and beverages.
