Abstract:
The report focuses on policy measures which have a bearing on farm structure in member countries, other than the United States, of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. The most extensive coverage is given to members of the European Economic Community, other Western European countries, and Japan. Specific structural measures are examined but the report recognizes that a country's agriculture also reflects the impacts of other policy measures as well as prevailing market forces. Thus, an array of economic, agricultural, social, environmental, and development measures are reviewed and examined in a context of their relationship to agriculture structure.
