1979 Pesticide Use on Florida Vegetables, A Preliminary Report

Abstract: According to the 1979 Vegetable Pesticide Survey, nearly 4.6 million pounds of pesticides were used to control weeds, insects, diseases, and nematodes on six vegetable crops in Florida. The six vegetable crops included cabbage, celery, lettuce, sweet corn, tomatoes, and watermelon. About 4.6 million acre-treatments were made ranging from 2.2 million for tomatoes to 148,800 for cabbage.
