Employment and Population Growth in Nine Nonmetro Kentucky Counties

Economic Research Service Economic Development Division

No 337009, Staff Reports from United States Department of Agriculture, Economic Research Service

Abstract: Inmigrants did not necessarily have an advantage over long-term residents in obtaining jobs in a rapidly growing nonmetro community in south-central Kentucky. Most new workers in the area were youth and/or women. New firms were an important source of new jobs, particularly in the private service sector.
