Abstract:
Contingent valuation techniques were applied to wildlife-related amenities. The iterative bidding approach used, permitted testing for several types of bias and interpretation of value data in terms of Hicksian welfare change measures. Contingent valuation formats are evaluated for effectiveness, and estimates of activity, option, and preservation values are presented.
