MINNESOTA ECONOMIC INDICATORS

Wilbur R. Maki

No 13927, Staff Papers from University of Minnesota, Department of Applied Economics

Abstract: Minnesota economic indicators include a wide variety of current statistical series prepared in various state and federal agencies and reported periodically in agency publications. The focus of this report is the organization of the various statistical series into a set of state and local economic indicators for Minnesota, including a monthly index of leading economic indicators. The index would serve in an important way in signalling turning points in economic activity, specifically, in Minnesota and its substate regions.
