The Smallholder Advantage: A new way to put climate finance to work

Chakrabarti Soma

No 304750, IFAD Advantage Series from International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD)

Abstract: IFAD sees smallholder farmers as more than just victims of climate change: they are a vital part of the solution to the ‘wicked’ climate change problem. Smallholders and family farmers produce four fifths of the world’s food supplies. They live and work on the frontline of climate change, yet they are among the least represented groups in national and global climate policy processes.
