The Mississippi Delta: Its Economy and Land Use: A List of References

Abstract: This list contains references published for the most part since 1915. They are arranged alphabetically by author, under broad subjects. Since the compilation is made at the request of the Southern Forest Experiment Station, U. S. Forest Service, emphasis is placed throughout on forest resources and products. For the purposes of this compilation, the Mississippi Delta is defined as an area in the lower Mississippi Valley occupying all or part of the following counties and parishes: Arkansas – Arkansas, Ashley, Chicot, Clay, Craighead, Crittenden, Cross, Desha, Drew, Green, Independence, Jackson, Jefferson, Lawrence, Lee, Lincoln, Lonoke, Mississippi, Monroe, Phillips, Poinsett, Prairie, Pulaski, Randolph, St. Francis, White, and Woodruff; Louisiana - Acadia, Ascension, Assumption, Avoyelles, Caldwell, Cameron, Catahoula, Concordia, East Eaton Rouge, East Carroll, East Feliciana, Evangeline, Franklin, Iberia, Iberville, Jefferson, Jefferson Davis, Lafayette, Lafourche, LaSalle, Livingston, Madison, Morehouse, Orleans, Ouachita, Plaquemines, Pointe Coupee, Rapides, Richland St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary, Tangipahoa, Tensas, Terrebonne, Vermilion, West Baton Rouge, West Carroll, and West Feliciana; Mississippi - Adams, Bolivar, Carroll, Claiborne, Coahoma, DeSoto, Grenada, Holmes, Humphreys, Issaquena, Jefferson, Leflore, Panola, Quitman, Sharkey, Sunflower, Tallahatchie, Tate, Tunica, Warren, Washington, Wilkinson, and Yazoo.
