The Toxicity of Herbicides to Mammals, Aquatic Life, Soil Microorganisms, Beneficial Insects and Cultivated Plants, 1950-1965: A List of Selected References

Patricia A. Condon

No 349300, USDA Miscellaneous from United States Department of Agriculture

Abstract: Excerpts from the Preface: For the purpose of this bibliography, "toxicity" is broadly interpreted to mean an unusual effect of an herbicide on a plant or animal. However, especially in the section on mammalian toxicity, articles are included even when the herbicide studied has had no discernible effect on an animal. Whenever possible, chemicals are designated by their common name as approved by the Weed Society of America's Terminology Committee. Toxicity data for many herbicides are available in unpublished reports. These report[s] have been cited only when there is a published abstract of the material which they contain. Annotations have been added to a citation only when necessary to clarify the title.
