Abstract:
Report Preface: In 1974, the Government of the United Republic of Cameroon (GURC) requested the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Fonds d'Aide et de Cooperation of France (FAC) to assist in developing the livestock subsector in North Cameroon. After consultation in Cameroon, USAID and FAC representatives indicated that the two agencies would favor providing such assistance if a study of alternative allocations of resources in North Cameroon indicated that such a project was desirable. The Government of the United Republic of Cameroon responded with a request for joint assistance in making an inventory of the total resources of North Cameroon. This report describes the resource base and discusses planning for the use and management of the resources.
