Abstract: This report summarizes research on utilization of sugar beets during 1949-1960 in the Western Utilization Research and Development Division of the Agricultural Research Service, U. S. Department of Agriculture, Albany 10, Calif. Within this Division, studies on composition of sugar beets, sugar, and processing juices are conducted in the Field Crops Laboratory and processing studies in the Engineering and Development Laboratory.
