Abstract:
The opportunity cost of allocating water among competing uses in the Columbia River Basin can be quite substantial, particularly since the resource has multiple uses. This paper presents the estimated trade-offs, measured in megawatts, between agriculture 6r fisheries and hydropower generation in the Columbia River system of the Pacific Northwest.
