Abstract:
Companies interested in developing beef products for export to Pacific Rim countries need to become familiar with the targeted area before the product is developed. Current supply and demand, cultural influences and taste differences, and consumer needs must be identified. Additionally, for the product to succeed, it should be marketed as a distinctive consumer product, not as a commodity.
