Abstract: This paper discusses macrostability and structural adjustment. This topic is very important both for highly developed country and especially for those under transition twoards market economy. Transition to a new economic system required huge economic changes which led to profound dezequilibrium. This produced the decrease of GDP, growth of inflation and unemployment, budget deficit and dezequilibrium of foreign payments and trade balance. The challenge for economists is to find the answers to this searching issues and looking for most efficient economic policies necessary for economic development.
