Abstract:
This paper aims to establish the impact of the Metroplús, the BRT system of Medellin, on housing prices in the city using repeated cross-section data from the Encuesta de Calidad de Vida de Medellín 2010 and 2014. Through a Difference-in-Differences estimation on the city level as well as per areas, the research found that accessibility to Metroplus had a negative impact on the renting prices growth rate associated with differences in its implementation and results across the urban area.
