Abstract: The role of seminars is shown in the new research model that was implemented in the recently created Faculty of Economic Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires. Different documents of the period are examined, the norms governing the research seminars and the publication of the results of the research activities -the monographs and the bibliographic records. The German research seminar model was adapted, providing it with a methodology based on the use and criticism of written sources, a collaborative bias was imprinted on the research and organized the dissemination of the results to guarantee its social appropriation.
