Abstract:
The article discusses the role of small and medium-sized innovative companies in the economy of the industrialized countries, the forms and mechanisms of state support in various countries. It is shown that the measures of state support of small innovative businesses are not aimed at curbing the natural changes in market conditions and the protection of uncompetitive small businesses, and to address problems arising from their small size. The mechanism of state support of small innovative enterprises suggests including profit and revenue in the form of venture business or tax revenues, and in assessing the effectiveness of a program of support for small innovative business focuses on an assessment of market demand for research and development results.
